Jack & the Beanstalk

Working in conjunction with the Rhondda Cynon Taff theatres and a designer, I produced two of the costumes for the 2014 pantomime “Jack and the Beanstalk”.  These were the “Bedtime Dame”, and the ever popular “Pantomime Cow”.  Working with a set budget and materials provided, I created these two stage-standard costumes.  This involved me working with a number of new elements, such as fake fur and also inserting lights into the Dame's costume.  I enjoyed tackling these new challenges, and I was very pleased with the outcome, as was the director and the audience.

 

I have always loved working on live productions, and this pantomime was no exception.  It was loud, lively and fast paced, with every day bringing new challenges and allowing me to expand my costume making skills.
